Police Impoundment

Police can choose to impound a vehicle for a number of reasons. Our experience with this situation makes it easier to get your car back on the road.

If you have had your car impounded, we are required to store it until the Police allow it to be released

Police impounds can happen for a number of reasons, and, depending on the reason for the impoundment, can last either 28 days or 6 months.

Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to apply to the Police for an early release of your vehicle. Pricing for impounded vehicles is based on a daily storage charge, so working through this process can save you money, and get you back on the road sooner.

We are not allowed to give your car back to you any sooner than Police allow us, even if you pay early, so please don't ask, to avoid disappointment.

Not every car is worth retrieving

Sometimes, your car isn't worth the fee to release it from impound, or your circumstances leave you in a position where paying the fees just isn't feasible.

We can offer a number of suggestions to keep your costs down, from as small as quoting for WINZ relief, all the way to disposing of your vehicle on your behalf.
